"Is it ok to do yoga when you have osteoarthritis in your hands?"
"You should absolutely do everything you can to live your life to the fullest with osteoarthritis.
Depending on where your OA is in your hands and how far it has progressed, you may need to adapt some poses to reduce stress on affected joints. I’ve had patients return to yoga using blocks or rolled up washcloths to change wrist angles. Some people have had success with splints or wrist braces.
A good yoga instructor should be able to work with you to safely alter positions to reduce pain and stress on your hands without increasing stress unduly on other joints."
